Garland is very well connected and can be easily reached by air, rail or road. There are several major airports situated in proximity to the city and provides convenient access to Downtown Dallas and other important cities nearby. The public transportation in the city is also very efficient and offers easy access to every nook and corner of Garland.

Travel to Garland by Air

The nearest international and domestic airports to Garland are Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport.

Dallas Love Field Airport

Situated just 20 miles from the city of Garland, Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) is managed and run by Dallas Aviation department. The airport serves as the headquarters for Southwest Airlines and offers easy access to many major cities including Baltimore, Kansas City, Las Vegas, New York – La Guardia, Orlando, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose. Other airlines running operations from here are Virgin America Airlines, United Airlines, Seaport Airline and Delta Airlines.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Situated just 29 miles from the city of Garland, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the eight busiest airport in the entire country and the ninth busiest airport in the world. It serves as the headquarters for American Airlines, making it the 2nd largest airline hub in the country and world.

The airport has five terminals (Terminal A, B, C, D and E) that collectively serve a number of major airlines including American Airlines, American Eagle Airlines, QANTAS, AeroMexico, Emirates, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, United Airlines, Cayman Airways and Frontier Airlines. There are also two beautiful hotels – Regency and Grand Hyatt, situated right next to the airport.

Public Transportation: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) offers easy access to the passengers travelling to and fro from Garland. Garland/DFW Heloplex

Also known as Garland/DFW Heliport or Garland Heliport, Garland/DFW Heloplex is owned by the city of Garland and is mainly used for general aviation. Opened in November 1989, it is operated by SKY Helicopters and is the first municipal heliport in the state of Texas.

Arriving and Getting Around Garland by Rails and Buses

Light Rail: Downtown Garland (DART station)

Initially known as Garland Central Transit Center, Downtown Garland Station is a DART Light Rail station that connects Garland to the city of Dallas via the Blue Line. It offers services to areas in Downtown Garland like Historic Downtown Garland, Heritage Park and Garland City Hall.

Forest/Jupiter (DART station)

Forest/Jupiter Station is another DART Light Rail station in the city of Garland, situated close to Jupiter Road and Forest Lane. It is the second last station on the Blue Line and serves Garland’s industrial area including Sears Service Center and Raytheon Systems.

Arriving and Getting Around Garland via Road

The city of Garland is very well connected by road including a number of highways and interstates. Some major highways in the city include Interstate 30, Interstate 635, State Highway 78 (Garland Road), President George Bush Turnpike and Belt Line Loop.
