Situated just a few miles away from Dallas, Garland is the second largest city in the state of Texas. There are several things for tourists to explore and do in the city including sightseeing, outdoor activities, shopping, vibrant nightlife, exquisite fine-dining and casual restaurants and much more.

Breakfast at 8:00 am

Start your day with a nice, hearty and delicious breakfast at one of the famous diners of Garland city. Hubbard's Cubbard (901 Main Street) is a popular breakfast eatery in the city known for its traditional American fare including delicious omelets, biscuits, burgers and banana nut breads. Generator Coffee House & Bakery (107 N 6th Street) is another famous diner in Garland, known for serving one of the best coffees and homemade sweets in the city.

Granville Arts Center at 10:00 am

One of the most important landmarks of Garland, Granville Arts Center is a famous art complex that includes an arts center, two auditoriums and a Plaza Theatre. It is known for hosting a number of events including receptions, concerts, meetings, seminars, plays and other activities. Lunch at 1:00 pm

After spending some time at the church, head towards Main Street Cafe (627 West Main Street) for traditional American food including Truffle fries, chicken pablano soup and burgers. State Street Pub & Grill (601 W State Street) is another great place for lunch and is known for bar food, craft beers and grills.

Lakewood Brewery & Taproom at 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm

For beer and breweries lovers, Lakewood Brewery and Taproom is the place to be in Garland city. Tourists can either relax in the garden with a few locally crafted beers or visit the Taproom. Several guided tours are offered every Saturday and Sundays and are on a first come first basis. Do try their seasonal beers.

Spanning over 22,000 acres, it is a spectacular fresh water lake situated in Dallas, Collin, Kaufman and Rockwall counties of the country. If you love fishing, then this is the place for you. Lake Ray Hubbard is known for its wide varieties of fish including blue catfish, white crappie, large mouth bass and hybrid stripped bass. Other recreational activities offered here include boating, hiking, biking and skiing.

Bass Pro Shops at 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Located right next to the lake, it is a great place for hunting and fishing supplies. If you love outdoor activities, Bass Pro Shops is the place for you. It is also home to an arcade, entertainment center and a giant aquarium for the visitors. They even have special demonstration classes and seminars on fishing and hunting. This place is also known for being close to the 28 acre Harbor Point. If you want to binge on some delicious seafood, do visit the famous Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant over here.

If you love cycling, then do take your cycle through the 15.6 mile multi-purpose trail over here.

If you want authentic Mexican cuisine, head towards Cristina’s Mexican Restaurant (4170 Lavon Dr #100).

Explore Garland’s Nightlife at 10:00 pm

The city of Garland is known for its vibrant yet casual nightlife. For delicious martinis and microbrews and blues music, head towards Bar Louie – Firewheel (340 Coneflower Drive). If you want the authentic pub experience in Garland, then Scooters Bar & Grill (1401 NW Hwy # 121) is the place for you. This biker friendly bar has 30 widescreen televisions, two fully stocked bars, ten pool tables and five dart boards for its guests.
