Downtown Garland

No trip to Garland is complete without paying a visit to the exciting Downtown District of the city. From a number of unique boutiques, local eateries to art centers, galleries and historic sites, this place perfectly combines history and urbanization. At night, get your groove up by attending one of the various concerts, musical events and plays at the Plaza Theater or Granville Arts Center. Downtown Garland is especially happening during Saturday nights when the sounds of guitars, banjos and fiddles entertain the entire square area.

Landmark Museum at Heritage Crossing

Built inside a vintage Santa Fe Depot, Garland’s Landmark Museum is one of the most iconic tourist spots in the city. It was bestowed in the year 1974 and is home to a number of unique artifacts, farm tools, old newspapers and quilts, some of which date back to the time when Garland was founded. The museum also houses a few restored historical houses along with an antique rail car for tourists to explore.

Lake Ray Hubbard

Spread over 22,000 acres, Lake Ray Hubbard is a beautiful fresh water lake located in Rockwall, Collin, Dallas and Kaufman counties of North America. It is known for its various recreational activities like fishing, boating, skiing and family picnics. There are also a number of hiking and biking trails situated next to the lake. Surf and Swim is another popular water park in the city of Garland. Situated in Audubon Park, Surf and Swim is known for its wave pool, which is also the main attraction of the park. There is also a children’s play area called Wally’s Cover and a party deck for adults. Spring Creek Park

A large verdant area, Spring Creek Park is a beautiful park popular for its gigantic trees, rare foliage and wildflowers along with a creek and hidden hiking trails. Located on the north side of Garland, the park is divided into three sections, each offering unique attractions for the visitors.

The Spring Creek Greenbelt is known for its playground, picnic tables, grills, fishing pond, backstop and walking trails. It is more popular among families and children. While the first Spring Creek Park Reserve also has a picnic area and walking trails, the other one is a natural forest preserve with 300 year old trees and a diverse flora and fauna.

Rowlett Creek Preserve

Rowlett Creek Preserve is another popular park in the city of Garland and is known for its biking trails, gazebos, a pavilion and picnic tables.
